Funeral planning

This page is for everyone. You don’t have to be 85 to start thinking about how you want to farewell the world! Funeral planning has been traditionally associated with something we do when we are very very old, or maybe likely to die soon because of a terminal illness. Many people refuse to deal with their own mortality and leave it to their loved ones to deal with after they die.

The following video is a documentary to inspire you to start thinking about how you’d like to be farewelled and remembered and mourned. It examines how Japanese society has transformed its’ thinking about funeral planning with the realisation that 1.2 million people die each year in Japan. The country is running out of space, and this has prompted society to be open minded with the way people are interred and commemorated.
