The Last Embrace.

It was cold outside

And the night was dark

For the blizzard was on its way

But it did not stop the red breasted lark.

He sang his last song

As they lay down in bed

For the embers had burned low

And could not be fed.

My dear, shall we dance with the stars

For we shall not last the night.

I’ll hold you in my arms.

Now draw your last breath,

And take my hand in yours

For the angel is here,

And the time is near.

The story behind the poem.

I have been exploring poetry to understand the evolution of my soul. I "downloaded" this poem whilst laying in bed, listening to a fusion of soulful sounds from the Plum Village Monastery, which facilitated a past life vision, emotional release and then I typed this poem on my phone.

I think you will love the Plum Village Monastery App- it has lots of meditations and is a wonderful way to relax and explore mindfulness in a natural setting.
