Healing Childhood Trauma: Why You Feel Like You Do Everything Wrong

by Katische Haberfield  - May 23, 2022

Why do you feel like you’re always doing something wrong — even when you’re not?

In this episode of The Infinite Life Podcast, Katische Haberfield guides Maggie through an age regression session to uncover the childhood experiences that shaped her emotional patterns, self-doubt, and disconnection from her intuition.

🔹 Season Context

This episode is part of Season 2 of The Infinite Life Podcast, where we explore money, relationships, and the deeper patterns that shape them across this lifetime and beyond.

🔹 What This Episode Covers

Maggie grew up in an environment shaped by trauma, addiction, and instability.

With parents struggling in their own lives, she was exposed to conflict, emotional unpredictability, and situations far beyond what a child should have to manage.

These experiences created deep emotional imprints that carried into adulthood.

🔹 The Core Pattern: “I Do Everything Wrong”

Through this session, a key belief emerges:

👉 I do everything wrong
👉 I can’t win
👉 I am responsible for what happens

This belief was not created through logic — it was formed through repeated emotional experiences during childhood.

🔹 Early Memory: Fear & Conflict

One of the first moments accessed in this session is at just four years old.

Maggie witnesses her parents fighting.

She feels afraid — not just of the conflict, but of being blamed or targeted.

At that age, she doesn’t have the capacity to understand that the situation has nothing to do with her.

🔹 Taking Responsibility Too Early

In another key moment, Maggie is forced into a role far beyond her years.

She is caring for her mother during extreme intoxication and makes the decision to call for help.

Instead of being supported, she is yelled at.

This reinforces a powerful emotional message:

👉 even when I do the right thing, I get it wrong

🔹 Emotional Suppression

To cope with these experiences, Maggie learns to suppress her emotions.

  • fear is hidden
  • sadness is held in
  • anger is turned inward

Over time, this creates disconnection — not only from her emotions, but from her intuition and spiritual guidance.

🔹 The Role of the Spirit Guide

During the session, Maggie connects with her spirit guide and receives an important realisation:

👉 she has always been supported

Even in her most difficult moments, she was not alone.

This becomes a key turning point in the session.

🔹 The Shift

Through regression and reframing, Maggie is able to:

  • understand that her parents’ behaviour was not her responsibility
  • recognise that she acted with strength and awareness
  • allow herself to feel emotions safely
  • release the belief that she is “doing everything wrong”

🔹 A New Perspective

One of the most important insights from this session is this:

👉 It is safe to feel.
👉 It is not your fault.
👉 You were never doing it wrong.
